At
the UNIVERSITY BREMEN, Department of Process Engineering there
is an open position for a
Scientist
(Entgeltgruppe 13 TVL )
- under condition of job release-
The
post is available for a two year period in the first instance. It will normally
be prolonged two years.
Function:
Research in the
T-Matrix Method to solve the electromagnetic boundary value problem for
light scattering computation by nonspherical scatterers for particle
characterization applications.
The position is intended to work for a Ph.D. but applications by post docs will also
be considered.
Qualifications:
Applicants should have a
good honours degree in mathematics, physics or engineer
(electrical or mechanical engineering) with a focus on mathematical methods.
Experiences in the area of light scattering simulation, optics or laser-optical
particle sizing technique would be an advantage.
Excellent communication skills in English are essential as well computer
literacy (FORTRAN, C++).
Some basic knowledge of the German language would be of advantage. Fluency in
the German language is not essential but applicants should be willing to learn
German.
