Abstract

We have extended Hafner and Bomholt's numerical electromagnetic scattering program 3D-MMP [1] with a fifth-order Gaussian beam approximation using Barton and Alexander's equations of [2]. Numerical computation results for one spherical particle located on-axis in a highly focused Gaussian beam (s=0.1) serve as an example for high accuracy scattering simulations in the visual spectral range at low size parameters of about 20.
